Connect Clockify to WorkTracker
Your Clockify time entries become tracked time — projects and clients included.
What you need
- A Clockify account (any plan). Heads-up for free workspaces: Clockify caps them at 30 API requests per hour, so syncs there run deliberately lazily.
Setup
Copy your API key
Sign in at app.clockify.me, open Profile settings (your avatar → Profile settings), scroll to the Advanced section and generate or copy your API key.
Paste it into WorkTracker
In WorkTracker open Connections, find the Clockify card, paste the key and save. WorkTracker probes the key, pins your active workspace, and stores the key encrypted — it is never shown again.
Sync
Click “Sync now” (or wait for the background sync). Your completed entries appear as tracked time with their project and client names resolved.
What WorkTracker collects
- Your time entries (read) — completed entries count as tracked time and anchor each day.
- Your projects and clients (read) — entry project names resolve, archived projects included.
The API key is stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM). WorkTracker only reads from Clockify — entries, projects and clients; it never writes to your workspace. Credentials are stored encrypted (AES-256-GCM) and are never shown again or returned by the API.
Troubleshooting
- Some entries have no project name
- Private projects you are not a member of cannot be named with your own key. On workspaces with a company-level Clockify connection (admin key) the names resolve on the next background sync.
- Sync feels slow on a free workspace
- Clockify limits free workspaces to 30 API requests per hour, workspace-wide. WorkTracker stays under that by syncing lazily; a paid Clockify plan lifts the limit.
